Scalo Site Shows Wear as Vacancy Lingers
Center advertises to potential tenants

Scalo, once a Nob Hill restaurant hotspot, has been closed for about seven months now and the effect of its vacancy has become visible. The large, two-level restaurant space occupies a prime spot on the northwest corner of Nob Hill Business Center, which is located at Central and Carlisle.
A visit to the site Jan. 20 showed a big crack on a large exterior window and a patio area still scattered with tables and chairs that have been exposed to the elements and copious amounts of pigeon poop. A peek through the front door revealed a dining room frozen in time, but also one with ceiling pieces that have fallen on a table from some sort of deterioration from above.

It also appears, however, that there is some movement to prepare for a new tenant to come in, as a liquor license application notice was posted on the window Jan. 14. The applicant—Nob Hill Service Co.—is connected to the owner of the center, Heritage Cos.
