At the Center of the Universe; in the Center of the Universe

You can’t miss it, really, walking anywhere near it, and yet: maybe you can… you might just slip along right past it, striding off across a gray band of its ever-changing shadow; or you might even absent-mindedly wander right through it, looking down, preoccupied—the light around you suddenly dimmer, and then bright, and then dimmer—you might barely even think about it; might only barely allow it the mental space most people allow most settings; and yet: this gray stories-tall cluster of six prismatic concrete tunnels: four facing the four directions; one springing up; and one tunneling down—this work of public art; this part of a campus’s geography—is The Center of the Universe.
